Lacrosse for 5 & 6 year olds!

LAX FOR 4-6 YEAR OLDS

The Raptor Lacrosse Club is introducing the great game of lacrosse to younger boys and girls!

The RLC LAX 6U program is a low-key, fun way for your child to pick up lacrosse and also become a better athlete.

Our main focus is fun! We want kids to learn to love exercise and give them a good start toward an active lifestyle. We have a low registration cost and everything is provided by the club.  Your child will be able to take home their very own stick after the first practice.

Program FAQs:

  • Registration is $150 which includes a stick. Practice uniforms are provided. US Lacrosse membership is an additional $30 charge
  • Eligible kids born between 9/1/2012 and 8/31/2014.
  • Participants are coed and will play soft lacrosse with no pads. Practice is once a week for an hour, which includes 3 on 3 scrimmages.
  • Season Starts in March and ends in May
  • Depending on participation numbers, additional sessions may be added.
  • Our program model is based on the Lacrosse Athletic Development Model. You can find more info at www.uslacrosse.org/adm.aspx

Program Goals:

  • FUN!  Our first priority is fun and we want kids to look forward to practice each week.
  • Kids will learn general athletic movements as well as lacrosse specific skills. We want to build a love of the game and a love for athletic activity.

Raptor Mission & History

Raptor Lacrosse Mission, History and Philosophy

Raptor Lacrosse Club (RLC) is a youth lacrosse club dedicated to bringing the sport of lacrosse to the residents of San Ramon and Dublin. Our players are girls and boys from 1st through 8th grade. Practices start in January. Games are played March through May. The objective is for our players, parents and coaches to develop a true and lasting love and passion for the game.

Every season 30% of our players are new to the sport. One of our key competencies is teaching new players good sportsmanship, how to play lacrosse and to have fun! One key to our success is training parents to be excellent lacrosse coaches. The club pays for classroom, online and on field training all season long. We partner with professional lacrosse coaches who help each coach by creating written training plans, specific drills and demonstrating drills with our kids throughout the season.

Raptors is a non-profit, 501(c) youth sports organization, started in 2010 by a small group of parents & a high school coach, who played NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse. They envisioned growing the game in our communities, and from an initial season of 5 teams, with girls and boys squads, the Club has grown to 13 teams serving over 250 players, in 2nd – 8th grade.

Our goal is to provide a team structure that allows coaches to coach, kids to play and parents to support team logistics.  Volunteering is a KEY component of the Club’s success.  A volunteer staff of coaches, along with parent participation, is required to ensure the athletes have the best possible experience.  A strong partnership between coaches and parents allow every child to learn skills in a positive environment while having fun.

RLC Philosophy is to Honor the Game by:

  • Building strong character through commitment and competitiveness
  • Promoting good sportsmanship
  • Encouraging academic and athletic excellence
  • Having fun
